It is known that coastal areas are among the most sensitive zones around the world. The coast of Bangladesh is known as a zone of multiple vulnerabilities, due to various forms of pollution which made the whole coastal and marine environment vulnerable.
SCORP, BMC LC has come up with the event, “Clean and Serene : Leave no trace” on october 3, 2022 at Cox’s Bazar,, in order to minimize coastal and marine water pollution, and also to make the local people aware of it.
The event has been splitted into 3 phases–
“Phase-1” Involves a beach cleaning activity. Our beach cleanup goal is to reduce garbage and plastic in the ocean.
“Phase-2” Is about creating awareness among the local people regarding the importance of keeping the beach clean for the sake of their environmental health.
“Phase-3” Includes “Tree plantation” where we’ll be planting saplings along the marine drive road, which have an unexpected benefit in the sea too: helping save embattled coral reels!
