1) What is Bangladesh Medical Students’ Society (BMSS)?

 The Bangladesh Medical Students’ Society (BMSS) is a national member organization of the International
Federation of Medical Students Association (IFMSA).
 The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations(IFMSA) is a non governmental
organization representing associations of medical students. It was founded in May 1951, and currently represents,
connects and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students from 136
national members’ organizations in 127 countries around the globe.
 IFMSA is recognised by the World Medical Association, World Health Organization and United Nations as the voice
of medical students globally.
 BMSS is registered under Registrar of Joint Stock Exchange & Firms, Bangladesh and is a full member of IFMSA.

2) What do we do?

 The main activities of IFMSA and MSAI are student exchanges and different clinical projects.
We function through six standing committees, which are:
 Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME)

 Standing Committee on Professional Exchange (SCOPE)
 Standing Committee on Research Exchange (SCORE)
 Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH)
 Standing Committee on Sexual & Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS (SCORA)
 Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP)
 In addition we have various other training programs, global health advocacy meets, professional exchange and
research exchanges to medical schools abroad, research projects, internships at WHO, United Nations (UN), World
Medical Association (WMA), observerships and various international meets such as General Assemblies, Regional
Meets and UN,World Health Assemblies (WHA) of the WHO.

3) How can I join BMSS?

 Any undergraduate/postgraduate medical student can join BMSS by filling the membership form and depositing a fee
of BDT. 300/- to the official BMSS Bkash account: +8801521331052

 Drop us a message at 01521331052 with your Name, Medical College, Year and Transaction ID
 You will receive a confirmation message shortly after you have registered.
 Also you will get all national and international updates regularly on the email id you have provided.

4) I want to get involved with BMSS, how do I go about it?

 You can contact your campus Local Officer or Local Committee Coordinators who will get you in touch with the
concerned national officers.
 Kindly refer to the list of officers in your state to help you out with the process.
