Joyssree Roy represented  Bangladesh Medical Students’ Society, in the three-day residential training, ‘Climate Practicum: Strategic Workshop to Strengthen Youth-Led Green Transformation Initiative in Bangladesh.‘ Orchestrated by Participatory Research & Action Network- PRAAN, The Earth, and Youth for CARE, this event served as a dynamic platform that united more than twenty impassioned youths from diverse corners of the country.

Throughout the three days, the training navigated through a spectrum of vital themes. Sessions delved into the pivotal role of youth in tackling the climate crisis, diagnostics of Youth for Care Initiatives, and strategic approaches to achieve ambitious targets and outcomes. A notable aspect of the event was the engaging debate competition that centered around the role of youth in facilitating a just energy transition. This not only added an entertaining twist but also sparked lively discussions among the participants. The emphasis on interactive group work and collaborative efforts not only enhanced the learning experience but also resulted in shared moments that are etched in Joyssree’s memory. The facilitators, hailed as seasoned veterans, were not only experts in their respective domains but also fostered a friendly and helpful atmosphere. The friendly and supportive facilitators, veterans in their fields, not only imparted knowledge but also inspired these young minds to envision a future where healthcare and environmental stewardship coalesce seamlessly.
