In a significant stride towards climate resilience, Climate Parliament Bangladesh hosted the ‘Regional Climate Summit 2023’ at Hotel Sheraton, Banani, from September 8 to September 10. The three-day event, attended by over 700 national and international delegates, focused on critical themes including Environment and Climate Change, Water and Waste, the Future of Energy, and Regional Cooperation.
On day 1 Stakeholders and Members of Parliament addressing ‘Sustainable Water and Waste Management,’ emphasizing local government’s role in climate-resilient development. Day 2 delved into the benefits of energy connectivity, parliamentary action for climate, and regional cooperation in the water sector.
On the final day, themes explored encompassed Harmony with Nature, Green and Smart City development, clearing the air on climate change, and leveraging youth power for climate resilience.
Four BMSS representatives—Nafisa Tasnim Binte Khalil, Jareen Tasneem, Rabeya Mahbuba Dipto, and Nafija Anjum—actively participated in this high-level event, contributing to the organizing committee alongside Members of Parliament.
