Health campaigns aim to engage and empower individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviours and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases. In Bangladesh, many people are very reluctant about their health, don’t do regular health check-ups and later suffer from health diseases. With this concern, after almost 1.5 years of virtual events, Bangladesh Medical College Committee arranged the very first offline event of the term,”স্বাস্থ্যনীড়:Your Health Is Our Priority”, under the Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH), collaborating with “The Rotary Club” at Kandapara, Keraniganj on 24th September 2021.
Through this event, BMC LC wanted to connect with people and know about the problems they are facing every day. Free medical and dental checkups, free mask distribution, blood pressure measurement, blood glucose estimation, free medicines distribution were arranged in the health camp; also awareness creation about health and Covid-19 were a part of this camp. The doctors were so helpful, gave proper treatment and suggestions to the people. The organizing team and the volunteers worked hard to make the event extremely successful. It was a small effort from BMC LC to create a better and healthy community.
