Project Aarohee

We are happy to share with you our first offline event ‘Sponsor Sanitary Napkins for Underprivileged Girls’ under SCORA. The venue was Al-Azhar Govt. Primary School, Nandail, Mymensingh.

Project Aarohee was our monthlong fundraising campaign where we collected donations to distribute reusable sanitary napkins in the rural areas of our country. On August 28th, a team of our very own local officers visited Nandail, Mymensingh, to deliver the sanitary napkins. The response we got from the session was overwhelming. The girls and their parents came to the event despite the rain.
The school authorities and the representatives from Wreetu and Bangladesh Suicide Protection Squad were present in the session. The whole program was differentiated into 3 parts. Prior to distribution, there was a small interactive session where our local officers spoke about the importance of menstrual hygiene and the use of sanitary napkins.
There was also a question-answer session where the women expressed their confusions and queries about menstrual hygiene and health.

And at last, we distributed reusable sanitary napkins to 27 underprivileged girls which could be used for up to a year.

SCORA family is full of joy to be able to come in aid of the underprivileged girls in rural areas, to cause a positive impact in their lives.

We hope this event will be able to create awareness and have a massive impact encouraging the rural women to use sanitary napkins and practice menstrual hygiene.
